2018 CAF Cup: Enyimba Tipped To Lift Trophy

Nigeria Premier League Club, Enyimba International FC has been tipped to lift the CAF Confederations Cup this season, according to a renowned Lagos based journalists, Emmanuel Etim.
In a chat with Tidesports, Mr Etim agreed with popular belief that the people’s Elephant Gold go on and win the converted trophy after defeating Brazzavile 1-0 in Aba.
The win took them to the top of the Group with 12 points and CARA on points, with both teams qualifying from the group and into the quarterfinals.
Mr Etim believes that the team from Aba has all it takes to defeat any opposition that comes their way coupled with the fact that majorly all Nigerian Professional Football League (NFF) fans are on their side, as they are the last Nigerian team standing in any of the CAF Competitions this season.
According to him, I was really impressed by the performance of the players in general, particularly Mfon Udoh, who gave a man of the match performance for me.
Enyimba, who were playing at the new Aba township stadium after a long time had difficulty serving in the match due to the staunch defending of the Congolese side, but found a way to break the deadlock after Mfon Udoh’s freekick hit the post and Wasiu Alalade converted the rebound later on the game.
That last gasp winner proved enough for the two-time CAF champions league winners to qualify as table toppers and they are set to meet Rayon Sports of Rwanda in the quarterfinals stage of the competition.
