Lesbian Film, Under The Rainbow, Premieres Soon
The Equality Hub has released the teaser of its upcoming feature documentary film ‘Under the Rainbow’. It is the first of its kind ever released in Nigeria. A lesbian from Nigeria, narrates her journey of self discovery in a powerful story of love, rejection, loss and triumphant set against the backdrop of a deadly homophobic society.
Driven by the findings of a recent study in which 83 percent of Nigerians say they would reject a family member who is LGBT. Such people should not have access to public services like education and health care. Under the Rainbow aims to increase visibility and create a more positive perception of LGBT Nigerians.
“Under the Rainbow” tells the coming out and life story of an LGBT rights activist from Nigeria, it was shot on a location in Lagos State; Nigeria. It features contributors such as film director Adeola Osokunjo, Red media Chude Jideonwo, Oluande Makanjuola, Ade Balogun and Ese Walter.
Under the Rainbow was written, directed and produced by Pamela Adia who serves as the executive director at the Equality Hub.
