Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, advised farmers to defend themselves against the killer Fulani herdsmen as she is puzzled that some set of people would take their cattle to another man’s land to graze only for them to kill the owner of the farm.
The Veteran actress who gave the advice in a recent interview expressed sadness with the activities of the notorious herdsmen in Nigeria, saying the people will have to defend themselves.
She reiterated the need for famers to prepare for self- defence. “The people would have to defend oneself I know it is crazy, but one should be able to defend one selves, our family and children”, she declared.
“Whenever I read about what is happening in Nigeria, it breaks my heart, I grew up seeing cattle where they had to be not that you have to create special place for them, you can create ranches in the North where they are predominant, I don’t see why you need to invade people’s farms and you kill the owners just because you want your cattle to eat. Since when do we have animals being more important than human beings”, she said.
Kate Henshaw further stated that it was a bad idea for government to even consider granting amnesty for Boko Haram members. She also spoke on Leah Sharibu, the Christian Dapchi School Girl who is still in captivity of the terror sect. She said: “I don’t think the Federal Government should grant amnesty to members of Boko Haram, have they paid penance for the wrongs they have done are they repentant? They have not even been punished for what they have done”.
“Also why is it that it is a Christian girl that was left behind? I would not like to go with something that would be divisive, she is a young girl and a human being”, she said.
She stressed that “it is very sad that other kidnapped Dapchi children have been released except one. The government should have pulled out all the stops to get that one last girl out to make sure that their release was wholesome, because you cannot leave any one behind. All citizens of this country deserve to move around freely without fear of molestation”.
