‘How APC Sponsored Don Waney’
It has now been revealed that the late dreaded former Mr Johnson Lgwedibia aka Don Waney got two million naira monthly from All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and former Chairman of Ogba/Egbemma/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA), Mr Austin Ahiamadu to breach security in Rivers State, particularly in ONELGA.
A former Special Adviser on Chieftaincy and Community Matters to the erstwhile Chairman, Mr Eme Okirie disclosed this, last Friday when he and ex-Chief Security Officer to the former chairman, Mr Richard Oburu led over 1000 APC defectors on a solidarity visit to the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Bro Felix Obuah at the party secretariat in Port Harcourt.
Debunking insinuations in the social media that Obuah sponsored Don Waney to create a state of insecurity in the area, the former Special Adviser hinted that the security challenges date back to the administration of former Governor Rotimi Amaechi, now Transportation Minister at whose behest the money was paid to the dreaded monster.
Okirie, who narrated how his house was burnt down by Don Waney, regretted that throughout Amaechi’s tenure, nothing was done to check Don Waney’s excesses as he was doing the biddings of APC chieftains.
Wondering why anyone would accuse Obuah whom he said has contributed immensely to the development of the area, he urged security agencies to apprehend and interrogate Ahiamadu to unearth the truth.
Okirie commended the state Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike for fighting insecurity in the state and for restoring peace in ONELGA.
On his part, Oburu paid glowing tribute to Obuah, PDP and assured of 99 per cent support during the June 16, 2018 polls and other elections.
He canvassed support for Obuah whom he described as a politician of superlative merit.
Welcoming the defectors, Obuah enjoined them to join hands with the Wike administration to cleanse the augean stable and increase democracy dividends in the area in particular and in the state in general.
He said despite challenges, Wike has been relentlessly transforming all parts of the state, saying that he has not abandoned ONELGA as being peddled by the opposition APC.
Obuah hinted that the dilapidated road, a federal road abandoned by past administrations and internal roads in the area are currently being reconstructed with the youth fully engaged in the projects.
Apart from human capacity development, Wike, he said, has spread various development projects in the area, including the reconstruction and upgrading of the long-abandoned Omoku General Hospital to the status of a regional hospital.
The PDP chairman narrated how his numerous investments in the area has impacted positively on the people irrespective of party affiliation and wondered how anyone would link him to any person or cult group that would unleash mayhem and destroy such investments.
Insisting that God is the ultimate judge, Obuah denied ever belonging to or sponsoring any cult group to engage gory acts to gain political advantage, adding that he has forgiven all his accusers.
