Undergraduate In Court For Stealing, Conspiracy

A year three undergraduate of Marketing Department of Rivers State University, Port Harcourt, Miss Juliet Kingdom has been arraigned in a Port Harcourt Chief Magistrate Court for conspiracy and stealing of valuable items and cash worth millions of naira.
According to the charge sheet made available to The Tide in Port Harcourt, Miss Juliet Kingdom with others now at large conspired to steal property and cash worth millions of naira in Port Harcourt, an offence punishable under section 516 of the criminal code.
She was also accused of stealing the following cash and items:
Cash sum of one million, five hundred thousand naira (N1,500,000.00)
Gold wrist watch valued three million naira (N3,000,000.00).
Beads valued five million naira (N5,000,000.00).
Gold earring and pendants valued two hundred and fifty thousand naira (N250,000.00), and gold necklace valued one million naira (N1,000,000.00). He stressed that the offence is punishable under section 390 (6) of the criminal code cap 37 vol. II laws of Rivers State of Nigeria.
She was subsequently remanded in prison custody for about two months before being granted bail.
The police prosecutor had earlier opposed the bail application on the ground that it would undermine the judicial process and credibility of the court.
Meanwhile, the case was adjourned to March 2018, for further hearing.
It will be recalled that the accused who hails from Rivers State, had lived with the royal family for about ten years.
Family source informed The Tide that Miss Juliet Kingdom was well catered for by the queen who also trained her from secondary school to university.
The source further said that the accused was given the best care and attention, situation that enabled her not only to be close to all members of the family but also to the family’s assets and property.
The family however, is demanding for justice on the matter.
