The Rivers State House of Assembly (RVHA), yesterday, screened four commissioner-nominees and Caretaker Committee members of Degema Local Government Council.
Out of the commissioner-nominees, three were former commissioners and one a former member of the state House of Assembly.
Among them are, former commissioner for Urban Development, Hon Chinyere Igwe, Mrs Nancy Nwankwo, Hon Michael West and Dr Risen Onyia.
Igwe and West were asked to take a bow as former lawmakers, while Nwankwo and Onyia were also asked to thank the Assembly and leave because of their pedigrees.
However, Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ikuinyi-Owaji Ibani charged the commissioner-nominees who were former lawmakers to exhibit high level of service and commitment at the executive arm.
Ibani said now that they were in the executive arm, more was expected of them, and, therefore, urged them to live above board.
Similarly, he charged nominees for Degema Caretaker Committee to key into the NEW Rivers Vision of the governor.
Earlier, member of the Assembly representing Degema State Constituency, Dr Farah Dagogo, had said that the nominees for the CTC were distinguished members of the area.
He pleaded with his colleagues to confirm the nominees as he vouched for their ability and integrity to serve.
