Police Arrest 57 Suspected Criminals In Rivers

The Rivers State Police Command arrested 57 suspected for criminals crimes for committed across the for state.
The police also arrested a 37-year-old female nurse for allegedly operating baby factory and selling of babies at the Rumuoluemi axis of the state.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr Zaki M. Ahmed disclosed this during a press briefing held at the State Police Command headquarters at last Friday in Port Harcourt to showcase successes and achievements recorded by the command within the month.
Zaki told newsmen that men of the Rumuolumeni Police Station led by the DPO, SP Kingsley Chukweggo on the 19th of this month at about 1100 hrs through credible information arrested one Kelechi Okamgba ‘F’ from Abia State allegedly operating a baby factory in Rumuolumeni Community.
He stated that upon her arrest, she led the police to her premises where four pregnant girls were found and gave the games of the pregnant girls discovered at the Baby Factory as Obianuju Nze, 22 years, Clinemerum Orji, 18 years, Josephine Chimena 33 years and Chidinma Ndukwe ‘F’ 17 years.
The CP further disclosed that the pregnant girls discovered at the baby factory were said to have gone there to moitgage their pregnancies and for possible sale to their identified customs.
The State Commissioner of Police while giving the breakdown of the Summary of suspects and exhibit recovered during the period under review said 25 armed robbers 6 cultists, 9 kidnappers, 7 burglary suspects and 4 baby factory suspects were arrested.
93 locally made pistol, 4 English made pistols 1 double barrel gun and 9 magazine some quantities of weeds, Tranadol Tablets, 3 vehicles were recovered, while 4 kidnapping attacks, 5 armed robbery incidents were foiled and 6 kidnapped victims were required.
He used the opportunity to announce that the state special task force committee on disarmament and recovery of prohibited fire arms, ammunition and weapons led by DCP Skphenttasso had within one week of its operation, recovered 12 AK 47 ripples 30 locally made pistols 35 single barrel guns, 4 double barrel guns, 3 pump action guns, 3 bareta guns, live riffle 4 long assault rifles 5 magazines and 60 cartridges.
Zaki said the war was still on-going and appealed to those who were yet to comply with this directive to do so before the expiration of the deadline. “It is worthy of note to say that we all not leave any stone unturned but will continue to fight criminal elements with a renewed vigour. This I have sworn to do until my three action words of repent, relocate or face justice are adhered to”, he stated.
