NUPENG Decries Poor State Of PH -Aba Expressway

The National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), Port Harcourt zone has expressed dismay over the poor state of the Port Harcourt-Aba express road, which it said has constituted a nuisance to the operations of its members and other users of the road.
Chairman of the Port Harcourt zone of NUPENG, Comrade Charles Agwornwor, who spoke with The Tide in an exclusive interview in Port Harcourt said it was a huge disappointment that the road which connects the economic hub of Nigeria is grossly abandoned.
It is a big disappointment that the Port Harcourt/Aba express road which connects, Indorama, fertilizer plant the federal ocean and lighter terminals among other miriads of multinational oil firms in Rivers State, we want the Federal Government to treat the repairs and reconstruction of the Port Harcourt-Aba express road with a sense of urgency.
He said many of its workers have lost their lives through tragic accidents as a result of the deep craters on the road.
Comrade Agwornwor commended the Rivers State Governor, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, for fixing the damaged spots on the Eleme axis of the East West road thereby alleviating the plight of the road users.
The NUPENG boss also expressed commitment towards the protection of the welfare of its members and rendering of essential services to the public.
