Imo Assembly Endorses Okorocha’s In-Law For Guber Race
The Imo State House of Assembly has endorsed the son-in-law of the State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha for the 2019 governorship race in the state.
Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, who is also the Chief of Staff to Governor Okorocha was endorsed by 20 lawmakers of Imo State House of Assembly, including the Speaker.
The endorsement exercise was made known to newsmen by the member representing Oguta State Constituency, Hon Henry Ezediaro in the State House of Assembly, through a press briefing.
According to the legislator, the endorsement of Okorocha’s son in-law, Uche Nwosu, took place at the residence of the Imo speaker, Rt Hon Acho Ihim. He stated that they decided to endorse the Chief of Staff to the Government House for the continuity of Governor Okorocha’s giant strides in the state, adding that 20 law makers, including the speaker participated in the exercise.
The Tide reports that those who carried out the endorsement exercise as expressed by the lawmaker, were all members of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The only four members from the APC extraction who did not partake in the endorsement exercise included Hon Chinedu Offor (Onuimo State Constituency), Uche Oguike (Ikeduru), Hon Fidelix Natararonye (Mbaitoli) and Donatus Onuigwe (Oru West).
Meanwhile, the three PDP members representing Ahiazu, Ezinihitte and Aboh-Mbaise State Constituencies were not involved in the list made available by Hon Henry Ezediaro.
Stakeholders in the state condemned the act.
