Four Lifters Set For Commonwealth Games

The Nigeria Weightlifting Federation (NWF) said four weightlifters would represent Nigeria at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.
The Secretary-General of the federation, Umar Lambu, told Tidesports source in Abuja that the four athletes were selected out of the 12 invited to camp.
Tidesports source reports that the 12 weightlifters were invited to Abuja for a close camping in December, which ended on February 28.
He said the weightlifters were selected at the end of the third phase of the camping, adding that they consist of two female and two male weightlifters.
Lambu gave the names of the weightlifters to represent Nigeria as, Uweh Monica, 48 kg  female; Fatima Yakubu, 53 kg Female; Agboro Favour, 62 kg  Male, and Anyalewechi Michael   85 kg Male.
He said the weightlifters have continued training while awaiting the commencement of their training tour of Europe ahead of the games earlier fixed by the Sports Ministry for March 1-30.
Tidesports source reports that the 2018 Commonwealth Games will hold from April 4-15 in Australia.
