Former Dean Drums Support For Wike

Former Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, Rivers State University (RSU), Port Harcourt, Prof. Adolphus Joseph Toby, has scored Governor Nyesom Wike high, insisting that his second tenure would be greater and more result-oriented.
Toby, who stated this, Wednesday in Nkoro Town during the flag-off of the European Union (EU) and UNICEF joint water project by the Governor, noted that Wike has put necessary machineries in place to ensure a successful and fruitful second term that would impact positively on the grassroots.
He enjoined everyone to join in promoting the good works of the governor which he said, include road construction and rehabilitation, education, health-care, caring for the aged through empowerment, housing, power and water supply, mechanised agriculture and security of lives and property of the citizenry.
“The governor and his team were able to put smiles on the faces of the people when all hopes were lot. They provided succour to the elderly, skills acquisition training to the youth and ensured better life for women and the less-privileged, among others. I am confident that he will perform far more greater in 2019”.
He said: “there is need for support to enable him ensure more people-oriented development for the upliftment of the state and its populace.
The professor of corporate finance, also stressed on the need for the people to be educated on the imperative of paying to be educated on the imperative of paying taxes, monitoring the performances of government contractors and reporting corrupt practices.
Toby tasked the electorate and the media to help promote accountability and transparency and public scrutiny, adding that they are crucial to governance.
He further stated: “the people and media must propagate and highlight the civic responsibilities of the electorate as a way of helping the government to shore up its resources in order to deliver democracy dividends to the people.
On the water project, Prof. Toby thanked the governor, the authorities of European Union (EU) and UNICEF, among others, for their efforts on the water project which he said would go a long way to give the citizens a sense of belonging in government’s scheme of things.
