Dapchi Girls Release Excites Osun Lawmaker
A member of the Osun State House of Assembly, Mr Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has described the release of the abducted Dapchi school girls by the Boko Haram insurgents on Wednesday as a “cheering news to the nation”.
Oyintiloye (representing APC-Obokun), made this remark in an interview with newsmen in Osogbo.
He said that the deterOmination and commitment of President Muhammadu Buhari to the rescue of the abducted girls was also laudable.
The lawmaker observed that the way and manner the president and the security operatives responded to the abduction of the girls to ensure their release demonstrated the sincerity of the Federal Government.
“The release of the abducted Dapchi girls is cheering and the Federal Government must be commended for this effort.
“The release of the girls has redeemed our image as a nation and demonstrated our president’s determination to secure the lives of Nigerians,” he said.
Oyintiloye, who is also the Chairman, House Committee on Information and Strategy, urged the Federal Government to ensure the release of the remaining Chibok girls.
The lawmaker, however, urged government authorities to provide adequate security in schools in order to prevent a repeat of the ugly incident.
The Tide recalls that the 110 girls of the Government Girls Science and Technical College in Dapchi, Yobe, were abducted on February 19 from their school compound.
