Coaches Want Rohr To Improve Eagles’ Defence

Grassroots coaches in Port Harcourt have commended the Super Eagles for t heir 1-0 win over Poland national team and the loss to Serbie 2-6.
The coaches said that Super Eagles Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr need to improve the team’s performance.
Head coach of Port Harcourt City football Academy, Anthony Mike said this in an exclusive interview with Tidesports in one of the their training sessions yesterday, at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt.
He noted that Eagles has started in a good note under Rohr by securing World Cup ticket and good friendly matches played.
“We are not there yet. They need to put in more effort to improve in their goal scoring chances. I wish them the best of luck during the World Cup matches in Russia.” Mike said.
Mike further stated that playing three friendly matches, won two and loss one is not a bad result, saying that he was impressed with the performances of the players, adding that being one of the youngest teams to attend the World Cup we believes that they will do better when the tournament kicks off.
“This shows Eagles have woken from their slumber. Rohr has done well but should also beef up the defence and the attack,” he stated.
Also speaking the head coach of future Stars academy of Port Harcourt Ukpabio said the friendly matches was interesting, but play the players need more time together as a team.
Ukpabio praised the Rohr for a job well done, saying that friendly match is to detect some grey in the team, that losing in friendly matches is not a bad result rather is to learn from their mistakes.
“I commend the effort of the players and the technical crew of the two friendly matches,” he said.
According to him the Super eagles exhibited seriousness in the matches, it is an indication that they know the task ahead, adding that every team that is going to the World Cup is going there to win, saying that, the midfield and the attack need to understand themselves because scoring goals is important in a competition.
