Banigo, Lawmaker Debunk Rift Rumour
Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr Ipalibo Harry- Banigo and lawmaker representing Degema Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Farah Dagogo have dismissed rumour of a rift between them.
The duo said they were rather focused on garnering energy towards uplifting the fortunes of Degema Local Government Area.
The deputy governor and Dagogo are from Degema Local Government Area.
They both spoke when political leaders from the area accompanied the newly sworn-in Caretaker Committee Chairman, Chief Boma Dappa on a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor.
The deputy governor commended Governor Nyesom Wike for his immense support to Degema.
She advised the new caretaker committee chairman to ensure the use his office to affect the lives of the people at the grassroots positively.
“ Degema is one, we are united, all the leaders here are committed towards improving the fortunes of the local government”, the Deputy Governor said.
Earlier, Dagogo had clarified that he did not have any issues with the deputy governor, describing her as “our mother”.
“I don’t have any issues with her. We are all concerned and committed towards improving Degema Local Government Area. To achieve that, it is imperative we work as one and support the deputy governor, “ he said.
Similarly, the State Commissioner for Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, Hon. Damiete Herbert- Miller and the Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Degema, Hon. Pleasant Braide harped on the need for all major players in the area to be united, regretting that divisions had over the years hampered the development of the area.
