Airport Manager Charges Women On Aviation Sector
The Manager of the Margaret Ekpo International Airport, Calabar in Cross River State, Mr Ayodele Sunday has charged Women in Aviation (WIA) to brace up and take up the lead in the Nigeria’s aviation industry.
He said that time had come when the aviation women would ultimately showcase their God-given endowments and managerial capabilities to move the nation’s aviation sector forward.
Ayodele, who gave the charge in his speech during the inauguration and launch of the Women in Aviation, Calabar Airport chapter on Tuesday, encouraged the women to be active participants in the industry.
The inauguration which took place at Margaret Ekpo Airport, featured inaugural rally, as the women hit the road in their numbers as the programme was well attended by who is who in the women aviation circle, which includes the chairperson of WIA in the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa chapter, Mrs Ladi Ogazi.
Meanwhile the General Manager, Corporate Affairs of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Mrs Henrietta Yakubu has bagged the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Personality Award for the year 2017.
Mrs Yakubu, who is one of the women in top hierarchy of FAAN was honoured alongside with different categories of personalities who have distinguished themselves in their line of operations in Nigeria including the Governor of Central Bank, Godwin Emefiele and Prof Sani Abubakar, Director-General of Nigeria Meteorological Agency, held at the Sheraton Hotels in Lagos, Monday.
The award ceremony was presided over by the President of the NIPR, Rotimi Oladele who emphasised that high principle, penchant for consistency and hardwork singled out the Head of Corporate Affairs of FAAN, Mrs Yakubu for the award.
