SDGs Racing Winner Advises Organisers On Preparation
Winner of the 2018 Racing for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Dawud Kyari, says the event’s organisers need to work on their challenges to come out better in the next edition.
Kyari told Newsmen at the weekend in Abuja that this was necessary as the event was good for the development of cycling in Nigeria.
“The event was very satisfactory in itself, since it has been a long time that competition of this kind was held in Abuja.
“But I still will want the organisers to build on their successes and work on their lapses.
“For example, the road mapping was poorly done and traffic control was also a major problem.
“A lot of participants missed their way because there was no proper mapping of the routes, ” he said.
Tidesports source reports that the one-day race, which began at 10 a.m. from the Unity Fountain in Maitama, was tagged “Racing for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”.
He said the event which was in partnership with the Cycling Federation of Nigeria was organised to help in raising awareness to achieve the SDGs.
