A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Hon Gabriel Pidomson has commended Governor Nyesom Wike’s shift in governance style by focusing on inclusive administration that supports the spreading of development projects to all parts of the state, including the domains of key opposition politicians.
Pidomson, who was speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt, lauded the governor for the commissioning of Edeoha-Ikata-Ochigba road in the Ahoada-East Local Government Area of the state, last Wednesday, even as he described Wike’s administration as hyper-active in all aspects of government, especially in infrastructural development.
The PDP chieftain, who is the chairman, Board of Trustees of Wike Solidarity Movement (WSM), also observed that the governor was working beyond the normal, with projects being commissioned on a regular basis, while ensuring that no part of the state was left behind because of political differences, as it was the order of the day in the immediate past administration.
The former secretary of state government also recalled that the Edeoha-Ikata-Ochigba road was awarded but not constructed by the last government, saying that on assumption of office, Wike revisited the road, awarded and constructed the road leading to the home of a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, and former deputy speaker of Federal House of Representatives, Hon Chibudom Nwuche.
He noted that the presence of Nwuche and the former speaker of House of Representatives, Ghali Umar Na’Aba, to witness the commissioning of the road was remarkable, and showed the governor’s style of politics without bitterness.
Pidomson, who donated a bus recently in support of Wike’s administration and his re-election in 2019 because of the governor’s exceptional performance, further stated that by his actions, Wike has heralded a new dawn of political maturity where political sentiments are subordinated to the overriding interest and welfare of all who live and do business in Rivers State.
