A former Leader of Opobo/Nkoro Legislative Assembly, Hon. Godswill Anengi Fubara has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently reshuffle his cabinet in order to make it more effective and meet the yearning of Nigerians.
Hon. Fubara who gave the advise in an interview with The Tide at Opobo Town, headquarters of the Local Government Area also said that the President may have been hijacked by cabal around him.
“Buhari’s government is currently been hijacked by a group of cabals in his cabinet. Mr. President, as a matter of urgency, should immediately reshuffle his cabinet. The cabals are there, busy manipulating Buhari government,” he said.
According to the former lawmaker who was among a thousand member All Progressives Congress (APC) who defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the area, President Buhari’s administration has no tangible achievement to point to after three years in office and blamed the President for his inability to function effectively as an elected leader.
Hon Fubara expressed worry over the way things are being done under the present APC-led Federal Government and advised the President to sack some members of his cabinet to save his government from collapse.
“I think President Buhari is on high level manipulation by a cabal in the presidency. As a former chieftain of APC, Buhari is making big mistake because Nigerians are expecting him (Buhari) to flush out those cabals that have hijacked his government. I am not happy the way things are going under Buhari administration. I am not against anybody but against manipulation and bad leadership which has frustrated the masses”, he said.
The grassroots politician further explained that Buhari who was able to lay solid economic development Foundation for Nigeria is finding things difficult as a result of the cabals misrepresentation of the government, pointing out that, “my question remains: Is Mr President not fully aware that there are certain persons in his cabinet who never want him to succeed as President of this nation?”.
Hon. Fubara, who represented Ward 5 in the Opobo/Nkoro legislative Assembly also urged President Muhammadu Buhari to bring together all ethnic nationalities in the country and find means of resolving issues bedeviling the nation.
“Niger is gradually heading to disaster”, he said adding that something urgent needs to be done to save Nigeria from crisis.
Asked if a Nigerian President of Igbo extraction could be actualised under the APC, Hon Fubara said that the Igbos have no future in APC, because the palm failed them as no single project initiated by the current government led by the party has been completed in South East zone.
Fubara added that, “you can see that there are no developments going on now in the South East zone except few mushroom ones, such as the Enugu-Onitsha road.
