Rivers Cyclists Prepare For 2017 NYG

Coach of the Rivers State Cycling Association, Miebaka Aggo said that preparations for the forthcoming 2017 National Under 17 Youth Games (NYG )is in top gear.
Aggo disclosed this yesterday during an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt.
According to him, the State U-17 athletes are currently undergoing intensive preparation to keep physically fit and as well improve their skills on the sports.
“We are now in the crucial moments of our preparation, the athletes are in high spirit and are determined to win at the NYG to be hosted by Ilorin, Kwara State from 7 to 17 September, this year”, Aggo said.
He advised the athletes to remain focused and committed to their target of winning gold medals for the state, when the competition gets under way .
“I urge my athletes to be disciplined as always and not relent in their good works, with these, they (cyclists) can compete favourably at fiesta”, he added.
Meanwhile, the state hosted its monthly cycling competition at the weekend in Port Harcourt.
The competition is held every last Saturday of the month to improve the standard and enhance performance of cyclists.
It would be recalled that Lagos State clinched first position whle Rivers bagged the second position.
