NAMA Director Harps On Synergy Among Staff
The Director of Safety, Electronics and Engineering of Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr Farouk Umar has called for synergy among staff and officers of the agency to move the agency forward.
He said that it is the responsibility of all staff of the agency, irrespective of the section, to see that they synergise to move the agency forward.
Umar, who made this known in a chat with aviation correspondents at the Port Harcourt International Airport, noted that with indiscipline, the agency cannot achieve its goals.
“What I see that has taken root in the system is discipline. When I say indiscipline, it appears that people do what they like, and there is no respect for the senior officers and I think any organisation that allows that kind of thing to happen is doomed to collapse.
“Something has to be done. We all have to come together. It is our responsibility to see that we all work and synergise together so that we can move the agency forward”, Umar said.
According to him, indiscipline brings setback, adding that insubordination and truancy had never yielded positive results to any sector or system.
He said that favouritism and injustice are all part of the indiscipline which according to him are embodiment of all negative vices.
On staff welfare, the director said that such is an issue and that it is the root cause of why staff morale generally is very low. He however expressed hope that things will be strengthened so that people could be held responsible for their failures.
