Surveying: Group Begins Move To Eradicate Quackery
In a bid to end poor standard job and corruption in the surveying profession, a group known as ‘The Young Surveyors Network (TYSN),’ Rivers State chapter says it has commenced move to eradicate quackery in the system.
The newly inaugurated coordinator of the group, Micah Miudirumuya, who stated this during his inauguration, said the new executive would partner with the Surveyor-General and the Nigeria Institute of Surveyors to end the menace of quackery.
“On the issue of quackery, I want to partner with Nigeria Institute of Surveyors, Rivers State branch and the Surveyor-General to make sure that we tackle quackery. The method I feel we have to use for it to work is by making sure that we work with surveyors that are in charge of registration, do the signing for them. If we can work with these surveyors direct, we would tackle it to a large extent.”
Speaking also, the immediate past National Secretary of the group, Ajie Emmanuel advised the coordinator to work closely with other executive committee members to achieve their goals.
“Today, I am so happy that we have a new executive and I want to urge them to picture their mind, the able and useful persons they are, so that the thought they hold for the profession may gradually lead the surveying profession to the haven we all aspire. I know that they are men of credibility and they can do the work, and so, I pray God to assist them always, so that they would deliver in their promises.”
