No few than 70 talents have been discovered at the just concluded Cycling Talent Hunt Campaign tagged National Open Junior/Kids Talent Hunt programme held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Host coach of the programme, Miebaka Aggo, disclosed this Sunday, in an interview with Tidesports shortly after the camping activities.
The camping which had the participation of 15 states from across the federation was held at the Rivers State University (RSU), Port Harcourt.
The programme was put together by Lifestyle Cycling Club of Port Harcourt and the Rivers State Cycling Association.
However, the programme is also endorsed by the Nigeria Cycling Federation (CFN) and the Sustainable Cycling Foundation of Nigeria (SCF).
The programme scheduled to hold annually in August, is aimed at building champions for the future who can represent the country and medals in Olympics and World Championship titles.
According to Coach Aggo, the potential talents discovered from the programme would be groomed ahead of future competitions, saying that, the aim of the camping was achieved.
“So far, we have discovered 70 young stars, no doubt they will do the country proud in the future, from what I have seen these talents will go places if they remain focused”, Aggo said.
It would be recalled that 60 talents were discovered at the first edition of the programme held last year in Port Harcourt.
