Potters Want Govt To Rehabilitate B’ Ball Court
The Niger Potters Basketball Club, Minna, yesterday appealed to the Niger State Government to rehabilitate its indoor court at the 123 Sports Hall to stop it from begging for a training facility.
Its Head Coach,Coach Danladi Ndatsu, made the appeal in an interview with newsmen in Minna.
“We are not training on our court at the 123 Sports Hall because it is in bad shape.
“We want the government to rehabilitate the court to enable us train there instead of looking for place to train,’’ he said.
Ndatsu said that the club was currently training at the state’s College of Education Indoor Sports Hall at the mercy of the Provost, who is the current Chairman of the club.
“We are using the Indoor Sports Hall because our current chairman is the Provost of the college.
“When his tenure expires in the next two months, we have to pay for the hall before we can use it,’’ he said.
He said that in the ongoing Kwesse Basketball Premier League, the club had reached the Conference’s Final 6, scheduled for August 11 to 18 in Kaduna.
The coach said that the club was ready for the game as the state government was making efforts to provide the logistics involved.
He listed the clubs that had qualified for the final to include: Niger Potters, Minna, Kano Pillars of Kano, Gombe Bulls of Gombe, Mark Mentors of Abuja, Defenders of Abuja and Plateau Peaks of Jos.
