The gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party in Rivers State during the 2015 general elections, Prince Tonye Princewill has vowed that politics would not strain his long time relationship with the state Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bro Felix Obuah, despite their political differences.
Princewill gave this assurance in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt.
The former guber candidate said his relationship with Obuah is beyond politics and should not be linked to political divide as being peddled in some quarters.
He maintained that because of his closeness to Obuah, he led an intervention team to his community when it was submerged by flood in 2013.
“I visited in his hotel in Omoku in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELEGA)” when all the area was flooded.
I know the gratitude he felt for my presence.
Princewill wondered why some misconstrue his good intentions and blow his statements out of proportion, stressing that, as citizens of Rivers State, “we should be honest to ourselves”.
Recalling his comment on a radio programme, he advised that Wike should ignore the opposition and work for the development of the state.
“The welfare of Rivers people rests in the hands of the Governor, not the minister for Transportation”, he stated.
