Police Urge IMT Female Students To Resist Temptation
The Police Command in Enugu State has advised female students of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu to resist temptations of getting involved in all manner of vices that can tarnish their integrity.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), SP Ebere Amaraizu, gave the advice while addressing female students of the Institute during a seminar last Saturday in Enugu.
The seminar with the theme: “Mentoring Women for National Development”.
Amaraizu charged them to eschew temptation that could tarnish their integrity as a person and group; urging them to shun academic sorting, armed robbery, kidnapping, fraud and cultism.
“Female student, especially should shun academic sorting, armed robbery, kidnapping, fraud, cultism amongst other social maladies,” she said and urged them to strive to become women of substance that impact positively on the society.
He described women as a substantial gender necessary for the development of the nation.
“Once a woman compromises her integrity, the woman will lose her value as a woman and may not have substance any longer,” he said.
The PRO also gave tips on how to tackle violence against women and children as well as how to report to the police human right and gender desk within the command.
The seminar was conveyed by the Vice President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the institution, Miss Chiamaka Morah.
