Police Parade 30 Cultists In Rivers

The Rivers State Police Command has paraded 30 cultists who were arrested from different parts of the state.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Zaki Mohammed Ahmed disclosed this during a press briefing held at the command headquarters in Port Harcourt, last Friday, to showcase the modest achievements of the command from July 1st till date.
CP Ahmed stated that the 30 cultists were among the 70 suspects arrested and paraded to newsmen and added that, that was the determination of the command to end the upsurge of cult violence in the state.
According to him, “the command in recent time is bedeviled by cult activities and cult related killings.
He noted that the command had deployed massive men materials and mounted serious man hurt to tackle the hydra-headed monster across the state.
He opined that the command had made significant achievements in that regard and added that they would not relent in their efforts to clamp-down on the increasing wave of cultism in the state.
The commissioner who named the arrested cultists as ,  Elechi Owhonda, Chibuike Okpara, Frank Otonah  Okedi Ogbugo, Ndubuisi Ajim, Martins Atlanta Chubuike, Ibifubara George and Holyghost Man Redzo.
Others are Collins Peter, Chidi Ebueri, Samuel Igure, Victor Farmer, Chimeka Ogbu, Boma Horsfall, Abraham Akpan, Samuel Markson, Anyele Osa, Markus Amadi.
Also arrested include Godspower Wona, Royal Okedi, Nworgu Michael, Dimey Clinton, Omoaruna Edimon, Ibinabo Barango, Joseph Nwabueze and Princewill Jumbo.
Elvis Elikee, Henry Alison, Gideon Nweke as well as Destiny Ugo Oyigbo were also arrested.
CP Ahmed stated that the 30 cultists arrested were members of two notorious cult groups, Icelander and Green lander, who been locked in a war of supremacy leading to the killings and other atrocious bestialities in Emohua Local Government Area of the state.
He particularly mentioned Chidi Egbueri and Samuel Igiri who were among the Icelander cult group that attacked their rival Deygbam at Omudiga and beheaded four persons. He said they have confessed and taken police where the heads were buried in a forest, where they were exhumed.
The CP further revealed the arrest of one Okedi Ogbugo and Ndubuisi Ayim, who killed one Barr Samuel Ikonwa with a matchet and added that police was trailing one Chibuzor Okemene, their gang leader who is at large.
