Minister Assures Passengers Of Safety

The Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika has assured that the safety and security of the people remain a top priority of government. He also assured that the Federal Government is doing its best in ensuring that safety and security of all passengers at Nigerian airports is guaranteed.
The minister, who disclosed this during his visit to inspect ongoing projects at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, maintained that everything would be done to ensure that Nigeria’s air space is safe.
Sirika who was accompanied on the inspection tour by officials of the Aviation ministry expressed his delight with the progress being made with the airport projects and the improvements in the airport facilities.
According to him, the ministry undertook the inspection so as to look into the wrongs of the past and see how they could be corrected. He said, “the purpose was to take the aviation sector to the next level. The Federal Government was considering the possibility of bringing back the national carrier”. During the tour, the minister visited the General Aviation Terminal I, the new power house, the fire service station, TRACON site and the International terminal.
Other areas visited on the tour were the NAFIS, Sky Power catering service, and the new terminal building of the airport.
The minister was also accompanied on the tour by the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Engr. Saleh Dunoma and other officers and chief executives of  aviation sector.
