Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, says he is seeking divine guidance in choosing new members of the State Executive Council.
Speaking while playing host to the Amanyanabo and people of Bolo Kingdom from Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area in Government House, yesterday in Port Harcourt, Chief Wike also explained why he dissolved the Sam Egbe- led Administrative Panel on Chieftaincy Classification and Review Panel.
He said, “I am still praying that God should direct me to the right persons. These days, you have people who are not loyal. You have to pray to God becuase you don’t know people, when you appoint them, they become masters of their own. This time, I’am asking God to please direct me on who to appoint, because we are going close to the key period and we need people who will not betray the government.”
On why he dissolved the Chieftaincy Review Panel, the governor submitted, “we dissolved the administrative panel when we discovered a lot of discrepancies and things that were going on. People think they can buy positions and I don’t want to be involved in that.”
Wike said he will use his executive powers to recognise stools that are due for elevation and review.
Promising to elevate the stool of Amanyanabo of Bolo, Chief Wike said Bolo is like his second home and thanked them for the support they gave to him during his electioneering campaign.
He assured them that their request for shore protection , electrification including internal roads will be done in phases, as he promised to visit the ancient town soon.
Earlier, Amanyanabo of Bolo, HRH Achese-Inimie Micah Frank commended the governor for the level of  transformation and development the state has witnessed two years into his administration.
The Bolo King while thanking the governor for the support he gave during the burial of their late King, sought for the elevation of the Amanyanabo stool to a second class status.
King Micah Frank also sought for the shore protection and  and sandfilling of Bolo Town which he said is under threat from tidal erosion.
