Go Round FC Keeps Promotion Dream Alive …Beats Osun United 2-0
Go Round FC of Omoku, has strengthened their quest to play in the elite League next season, as they overcome their visitors, Osun United 2-0, on Sunday, at the Krisdera Stadium, in Omoku, Rivers state.
The game was one of week 27 games in the Nigeria National League (NNL) played at different venues across the nation.
Speaking shortly after the match, Chief Coach of Go Round FC, Ngozi Elechi said he is optimistic that his side will play in Nigeria Professional Premier League (NPFL) next season.
According to him, he is working assidously to ensure his team does not drop any point in the remaining seven matches.
“I am delighted that we won and I commend my players for the victory, in spite the fact that one of my strongest defenders missed the game due to suspension.
We are also working hard to ensure that we did not lose any point at home.
Besides, the players have realised that this is the best opportunity they have to gain promotion” Elechi said. He further commended his opponents for their good conduct both in and out of the pitch, saying that they are also a good side.
Also speaking after the game, Chief Coach of Osun United, Adebayo Adesina attributed the defeat to loss of concentration. He stated that apart from that his defenders made some tactical blunders that resulted to the second goal.
In the game home boy Ufere Chinedu saw the net at 31st minutes through a well calculated shot outside the box, while Eta Okon sealed the victory at 81st minutes. As it stands, Go Round FC is currently occupying second position on the log. They have four home and three away games.
