Cricket Federation Shifts Zonal Elimination To Aug 17
The North-Central zonal cricket elimination tournament in preparation for the National Youth Games (NYG), earlier scheduled for August 3 to August 6 has been shifted to August 17 to August 20, an official has said.
Kabir Yusuf, the Secretary of Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF), made the disclosure to newsmen in Abuja.
Yusuf said that the date was adjusted to give teams in the zone enough time to prepare for the event.
According to him, the zonal elimination is to select two top male and female teams from the zone to represent the region in the NYG.
“Other geo-political zones held their eliminations at the weekend but that of the North-Central, which will hold in FCT has been moved to a new date,” he said.
Tidesports reports that the third edition of the NYG will hold at the University of Ilorin from Sept. 7 to Sept. 17.
