Banigo Felicitates With African Bar Association
The Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Dr Ipalibo Harry Banigo, has felicitated with the African Bar Association on the occasion of its 2017 Annual Conference holding in Port Harcourt.
In a statement from Government House, in Port Harcourt, Banigo said over the years, the African Bar Association has continued to advocate for good governance, fostered cooperation amongst the various bar associations in the continent and has also mediated and resolved some political crisis in Africa.
She commended the State Chief Executive, Chief Nyesom Wike for hosting the African Bar Association in the Garden City, a year after hosting the Nigerian Bar Association in Port Harcourt, stressing that the hosting of such meetings serves as a tonic to boost the local economy.
“The high influx of delegates attending these conferences in Rivers State no doubt, opens up new vistas of opportunities for our people to grow their businesses, for instance those in the hospitality industry smile all the way to the bank, all thanks to the governor”, Banigo said.
According to her, the hosting of various national and international events in the state was a clear demonstration that Rivers State was not only safe and secure for its residents but was the preferred destination for investors and tourists.
Banigo, who said the theme for the conference, “dissecting the Legal and Regulatory Frame work For Doing Business in Africa”, was apt, congratulated the immediate past president of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, for his erudite delivery of the keynote address, which she said, has given every one a good food for thought.
Banigo, who wished all the delegates a pleasant stay in Port Harcourt, also commended the President of the African Bar Association, Hannibal Uwaifo and his team for putting the conference together.
