…Arrest Woman With 342 Ammunition In Omoku

In a sustained effort to clamp down on criminals, the Rivers State Police command, has arrested a woman, Mrs Gift Idongesit Johnson, for allegedly being in possession of 342 rounds of 7.62 million live ammunition in Omoku.
Mrs Gift Idongesit Johnson, was arrested on the 28th of July, this year at about 6.20pm by   Special Anti-Robbery Squad on routine patrol at Ogba/ Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of the state.
She was said to have concealed the ammunition in three different Beegium shoes which she was alleged of going to supply to militants and kidnappers within the ONELGA area before she was nabbed by the gallants of Special Anti- Robbery Squad (SARS).
She was paraded alongside the 70 suspects last Friday at the police command headquarters in Port Harcourt.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Zaki Mohammed Ahmed, said that the woman would be charged to court when the investigation on the matter was concluded and added that the woman was cooperating with the police to name her sponsors and accomplices.
In a related development, the police in Rivers State have arrested six-man  syndicate of “fraudsters”  popularly called “One chance”.
The six suspects were allegedly arrested on the 28th of July, this year at about 6.20pm by operatives of Special Anti-Robbery Squad ( SARs) acting on a tip off.
The alleged 419 suspects arrested by operatives of SARS include Patrick Ukatu, 46, Victor John 41, Mike Eze 26, Sunday Onuohua, 42, Udo Eze, 40, and Christiana Ukatu, 32, a female gang member.
The State Police Commissioner, CP Zaki M. Ahmed, disclosed that all the suspects had made useful statements and would be arraigned in court soon.
