ACC: Rivers Hoopers’ Loss, Painful – Coach
Coach Ogoh Odaudu of Port Harcourt-based Rivers Hoopers Basketball Club says his team’s loss to Kwara Falcons in the final of the Atlantic Conference 6 Championships is painful.
A statement last Monday in Port Harcourt, by Queen John, Rivers Hoopers’ Media Officer quoted Odaudu as saying that the game was not what his club would have lost.
Odaudu said that the club lost the game due to unexpected factors, without mentioning the factors.
“The loss is painful, especially because of the margin, it’s a game we should have won due to some factors.
“Those factors stepped in and destabilised the team,” he lamented.
Tidesports source gathered reports that Kwara Falcons emerged champions of the Atlantic Conference having defeated Hoopers 68-57 points.
Kwara Falcons, Rivers Hoopers, Hoops & Read and Nigeria Customs have, however, made it to the 2017 Kwese Premier Basketball League Final 8 scheduled for Kano from Sept. 4 to Sept. 9.
The four teams will join the four best from the Savannah Conference 6 playoffs. They are Kano Pillars, Niger Potters, Gombe Bulls and Plateau Peaks.
