Support PDP To Deliver Projects – AKULGA CTC Boss
The people Of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area (LGA of Rivers State have been called upon to continue in their support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led government in the State to attract more development to the area.
The newly sworn-in Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the LGA, Hon. Ere Manuel who stated this while swearing-in other members of the caretaker committee in Abonnema at the weekend, thanked the State Governor Chief Nyesom Wike for giving him and other members of the caretaker committee the opportunity to serve the people.
He urged the caretaker committee members to see their appointments as a missionary journey to touch the lives of the people positively, and called for the support and prayers of the people to move the LGA to greater heights.
He promised to give priority attention to workers’ welfare, electricity and youth empowerment. Also speaking, a chieftain of the PDP and a one-time caretaker committee Chairman of the area, Hon. Rowland Sekibo urged the new CTC Chairman and members to impact positively on the lives of the people, stressing that power belongs to the people.
He pledged to support the council boss to restore electricity to the local government headquarters in Abonnema, and called on the people to support the administration.
Highlights of the ceremony include the assignment of portfolios to the caretaker committee members which include Mr. Daibi Don-Pedro as the Supervisor for Works, Mr. Francis Jack as the Supervisor for Sports, Mr. Jim Tamunosaki as Supervisor for Education, Mr. Otonye Briggs as Supervisor for Agriculture, Mr. Ibiabere Clinton as Supervisor for Commerce and Industry, and Mrs. Tokini Jack as Supervisor for Health.
Also sworn-in are principal officers of the council, which include Hon. Awowari Amakiri as Secretary to the Council, Hon. Ibituroko Briggs as Chief of Staff, Mr. Damiete Dokubo as Chief Security Officer and Comrade Omubo O. Briggs as the Press Secretary to the council.
Speaking on behalf of the appointees, the Supervisor for Works, Hon. Daibi Don-Pedro pledged the support and cooperation of the appointees to the chairman for the overall development of the area. He thanked the State Governor Chief Nyesom Wike for the privilege to serve, and called on the people for their support.
Other dignitaries that graced the occasion include Hon. Engr. Major M. Jack, representing Akuku Toru Constituency 1 and Deputy Whip of the State House of Assembly and Hon. Torukwein Odimabo, a former caretaker committee Chairman of the LGA.
