Fair Play: Deputy Gov Lauds Coaches

The Edo State Deputy Governor, Phillip Shaibu, has commended the coaches of Bendel Insurance FC of Benin and Nnewi United for their efforts at fair play and promoting the spirit of sportsmanship.
Tidesports source gathered that Shaibu gave the commendation after both teams met in their Nigeria National League (NNL) fixture on Saturday, in Benin, which ended 1-0 in favour of the hosts, Bendel Insurance.
Shaibu, who watched the match, also congratulated the Insurance players for their victory, urging them to maintain the same mentality when playing their away matches.
He said that Governor  Godwin Obaseki, was happy with the victory and advised them to win their away matches to enable them gain promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
According to our source,  Benedict Akpom, scored for Insurance after 84 minutes of play at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin.
At the end of the match, Insurance FC’s Head Coach, Roland Ewere, commended his team’s performance throughout the 90 minutes of play.
His counterpart in Nnewi United, Agbana Ademola, also commended the spirit of his players, adding that they lost to a better side.
