Cult Clash Claims Seven In Emohua

A  cult clash has claimed the lives of seven people in Umudioga Community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.
According to a report, the incident occurred on lastSaturday night following an alleged abduction of a member  of a cult  group in the area.
A source who spoke with The Tide on the condition of anonymity, said, the kidnap of the member of a rival cult group sparked off reprisal attack  leading to the death of seven persons.
The chairman, Community Development Committee (CDC), in the area, Mr Bright Anele, who confirmed the incident in a telephone interview said the incident have thrown the community into a state of uncertainty and added that, the community had been deserted.
Mr Anele disclosed that, four  persons were beheaded while other three were shot and added that inhabitants of the community were crying for assistance in the area.
He called on the military to establish a check point in the area and added that, the move would help to check the level of in security in the area.
The CDC Chairman averred that the community had written to the 6 Division Army Headquarter in Port Harcourt  to establish a   military base in the area but regretted that for two weeks nothing has been done.
“We wake up to hear that one cult group kidnapped a member of the other group  four persons were beheaded, while three others were shok death.
People are living in fear now,  because we don’t know what will happen  next. What we need now is a security check point here,” he stated .
When contracted, the police Public Relations Officer (PRO), DSP Nnamdi Omoni said he was yet to get full details about it.
