Behold, Movies Of The Week
The Nigerian movie industry of late has produced maximum quality and creatively engaged story lines. There is no doubt, more time and money are being put and invested into the movie industry. Unlike how it used to be, there is actually value for your money when you pay to watch a Nollywood movie at the cinemas.
Some of the hit movies this week are:
Alta Ego:
Alter Ego takes a dive into the story of a lawyer who specialises in defending less privileged, sexually abused victims. She somewhat takes her cases personal and uses unconventional methods to see the sex offenders and molesters are punished even if it means going the extra mile out of the court.
Her character, choices and decisions throughout the movie are influenced by the experiences she had as a kid growing up.
At a young age, she was sexually abused by her teacher which in turn leaves her battling with some uncontrollable sexual urges throughout her life.
With her past still haunting her, she literally sleeps with every man who crosses her path, she ends up getting in bed with her employees, security guards and even her brother-in-law.
She finally meets Timothy, a billionaire philanthropist who adds some spice to the plot.
Omotola Jalande Ekeinde plays the role of lawyer. Though Omotala hasn’t been in the movie scene for close to three years now, the role was played so well by her, you would believe everything going on in this movie is real. Omotola might have been out of the game for a while now, but there is no doubt this role was actually made for her.
A Million Baby:
A Million Baby is a Nollywood movie with a twist of comedy that follows the story of Janet, a comfortable family woman who loves to give and help the less-fortunate.
She eventually falls victims of her own good will and a turnaround of situation lands her in the company of Morufu, Mama Oyinye and Johnny.
The movies are showing in Silverbird, Genesis and Film House Cinema houses across the country.
