The Acting President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi  Osinbajo, has described Cross River Industrial Park as one  of the biggest business hubs in Africa.
Osinbajo stated this while inaugurating the Garment factory initiated and completed by Governor Ben Ayade during his two-day working visit to Cross River State, Thursday.
In his words, “the Cross River Industrial hub will become a major business hub in Africa in the nearest future and will bring development not only to the state but to Nigeria and beyond.”
Speaking further, he said that, the industrial hub which encapsulates Calaparm, Rice City, and Garment factory, among others, would fast-track economic growth and development of Cross River State.
Earlier at the palace of the Obong of Calabar, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V, the Acting President solicited the support of all and sundry, stressing that all parts of the country are important to the federal government and  that, Cross River would not be left behind in the developmental efforts of the present administration.
Osinbajo, however, called for unity as well as an end to insurgency, militancy and kidnapping in order for peace to reign which would invariably lead to growth and development of the country.
In his remarks, the State Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade, had stated that the industrial hub and other projects in the State were aimed at making Cross River an enterprise State and stamping out unemployment in its entire ramification.
The event featured the conferment of chieftaincy title of ‘Adahida Ke Ufo Eburutu’ on the Acting President by the Obong of Calabar.
He later held a Town Hall meeting with the entire people of the State at the Calabar International Convention Centre (CICC).
