Wizkid Bags Three Int’l Awards One Day

Popular Nigerian musician, Wizkid, also known as ‘Baba NLA’ keeps doing  the country proud on the international stage. This time, he has become the first Nigerian music star to win three awards at the Billboard Music Award (BMA) held at the T mobile Arena in Las vegas, United States of America (USA) on Sunday, May 21, 2017.
Nominated for seven awards, the CEO of Starboy records won in three categories namely, Top Streaming Song, Top RnB song and Top RnB collaboration with Drake on the song, “One Dance.” All of these point to the fact that more  people outside the country are paying attention to Nigerian music.
It could be recalled that, apart from Drake, Wizkid had released songs with other award winning international stars such as Chris Brown and his rumoured girl friend, Justine Skye.
Meanwhile, Drake emerged the biggest single year award winner at the Billboard Music Award going home with 13 awards, including: Top artist, Top mail artiste, Top billboard 200 artiste, Top Hot 100 artiste, Top rap artiste among others.
