Osun Utd Sacks Nine Players For Indiscipline
Osun United Football Club at the weekend sacked nine of its players, accusing them of indiscipline and low productivity.
The club also asked them to look elsewhere to ply their trade following a major shake off in the team ahead of the second round of the Nigeria National League campaign.
The club spokesperson, Mr Tunde Shamsudeen, said in a statement that the technical crew have informed the management of their decision to drop the players from the team for low productivity and gross indiscipline.
“The technical crew led by ex-international Duke Udi, retained 22 players and advised the retained players to justify their stay in the club or be shown the exit door at the end of the season.
“The sacked players are: Tosin Olabode, Abubakar Mohammed, Mustapha Ramoni, Ali Mohammed, Lekan Oseolohun, Edebiri Amaefe, Kunle Ashiru, Olabisi Olagunju, and Lekan Agunloye.’’
According Shamsudeen, the club thanked the dropped players for helping the team before now.
He said that the club wished them success in their future endeavour, stressing that the drop became necessary following the ongoing restructuring in the club to cut expenses.
“The technical crews have given management the list of players they want to work with.
