Head Coach of Police Machine Football Club, Daniel Kwaji, last Wednesday, said his club’s target of top place in their 2017 Nation-wide League One (NLO) group was still achievable.
Tidesports source gathered that the club’s match against FC Heart in the NLO Division Two E2 could not hold because their opponents did not show up.
The match was scheduled to hold at the Area 3 football pitch in Abuja.
Kwaji said his team was prepared to play the match but unfortunately their opponents did not honour the match which was their first in the league.
“We came to play the match. It is unfortunate that our opponents did not come.
“But we have a good team that will make us achieve our goal this season. We are set for this year’s competition.
“Our target is to top the league and move to the next level. But we will now go back home and work more before our next match”, he said.
The coach assured that his team would fight well to win all their games and secure a place in the league’s Division One”, he said.
Speaking on the failure of the match to hold, the acting secretary of FCT Football Association, Ilerika Usman, told newsmen that they learnt earlier of FC Heart’s decision to miss to fixture.
He said they had earlier communicated through a letter to the NLO Secretary that they would not be able to honour the game.
“We don’t know the reason why they could not honour the match, but I’m sure they must have stated the reason in the letter they sent to the NLO,” he said.
