RSG Reasures DELGA Of Dev
The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike has reassured the people of Degema Local Government Area (DELGA) that it will witness uncommon development during his tenure.
Governor Wike who gave the assurance, last Friday, during the Flag-off of the Bakana sandfilling, dredging and shoreline protection projects, said the projects, expected to last about five months, will cover 17 hectares of land.
He said he has been having sleepless nights owing to pressure from the state Deputy Governor, Dr. Ipalibo Harry- Banigo, who incidentally hails from Degema, the lawmaker representing Degema Constituency in the State Assembly, Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo, Commissioner for Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, Hon. Damiete Herbert Miller, CTC Chairman, Hon. Ombo Benibo, among others on the need to develop Degema in line with his electoral campaign promises.
In demonstrating his commitment to Degema, Wike revealed that the sum of N500 million had been released for the completion of the Degema General Hospital.
He sued for peace and cooperation from the youths to achieve speedy completion of the projects, promising to liaise with the State Commissioner of Police to situate a Police Station in Bakana.
CTC Chairman of Degema, Chief Ombo Benibo commended the Governor for his efforts in transforming the state, assuring him that Degema will always give him their support.
