Rivers United’s Skipper Sure To Clinch Victory In Tunisia

The Captain of Rivers United football club of Port Harcourt, Austine Festus has assured the sponsors of the club that they will secure victory against club Africa of Tunisia, in Tunis tomorrow, saying that the new players injected into the team have the capacity to win any team in the group.
He stated that his players are in formed, mentally, psychologically and physically balanced to execute any game, adding that such atmosphere have been created for the players to perform optimally.
Festus said these in an exclusive interview with Tidesports on Wednesday in Port Harcourt saying that in spite of the fact that the club is new in continental competition, have the experience gotten from Nigeria Football professional league NPFL) will be an advantage.
“We are really prepared for this confederation cup, in terms of training and otherwise. Our technical adviser Stanley Eguma has actually worked on the team’s grey areas most especially the aspect of converting goals which is most significant in football”, Festus said.
According to him, the FA cup they won on Tuesday in the state is another psychological and morale booster, adding that the victory has also given the team confident that they will run away with three points from Tunisia.
“our major target is to win the African Confederation cup trophy, together with league title this season. We also want to assure our fans, supporters and sponsors that the team will come back to enviable position on the log, as the players have vowed to put in their best to make the state proud”, he stated.
Festus, further appeal to Nigerians to support them in all aspects to secure victory noting that as the only club carrying the nation’s flag in the continent they would not disappoint the country.
