Monarchs, Andoni People Give Gov Confidence Vote
The traditional rulers and people of Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State last Saturday passed a Vote of Confidence on the State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike for his exemplary conduct of governmental affairs.
The newly recognised first class traditional ruler and paramount ruler of Ngo Community, HRM King Job William Okuruket Nnabiget announced this at the reception ceremony held at Ngo, the headquarter of Andoni Local Government Area to thank Governor Wike for embarking on people oriented developmental projects and progrmammes, including the recognition of two traditional stools in Andoni as first class in the Rivers State Traditional Rulers’ Council.
King Nnabiget who lauded Governor Wike for flagging-off the Andoni Opobo/Nkoro unity project said the gesture has shown that the governor is a man of his words.
He expressed appreciation to the state governor for recognising the stools of Ngo and Ikuru town communities respectively as first class stools, saying with the gesture, the entire Andoni people have resolved to re-elect him for a Second term, come 2019.
The monarch said with the gesture, the people of the Andoni will not forget the Governor’s name in the annals of Andoni, assuring that he (Nnabiget) and his colleague, HRM King Aaron Ikuru, will make good use of the opportunity to bring peace, unity and developments to the area and Rivers in general.
Also speaking, the Paramount Ruler of Ikuru town, King Ikuru, applauded the governor for placing the people of Andoni in the scheme of government policy and programmes.
He said the Obolo speaking people would continue to identify with Governor Wike, irrespective of political party affiliation.
The high point of the event was the conferment on Governor Wike the tile: “Oro-ata 1” of Andoni, meaning the Doer of Good In Andoni, which according to King Nnabiget is equivalent to community paramount ruler in Andoni.
