The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has expressed satisfaction with the quality of facilities deployed for the ongoing Computer-Based Test (CBT) in Enugu State.
The board also commended the management of Fore Trust Digital Centre for providing a model examination for students in the state.
Speaking with newsmen during a routine monitoring of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), the South-East Coordinator of JAMB, Mr Olusola Kuye, said he was comfortable with the exercise.
Kuye said that the examination had been a huge success across the state, adding that the response and conduct of candidates had been gratifying.
He, however, said that about two of the 21 centres in the state had experienced difficulties due to power surge.
“We have recorded about two centres with power surge but we are on top of the situation.
“I am happy the candidates are happy with the procedure adopted this year.” he said.
Kuye described Fore Trust Digital Centre in Independence Layout, Enugu, as one of the best centres for the examination.
“I am satisfied with the facility here. The environment, cooling system inside the hall, sitting arrangement and supervision have been the best.”
He said that the centre had all that the board required for the exercise, including a standard waiting room for the candidates.
Kuye said that the centre had not recorded any hitches so far, adding that students were bound to express varied opinions.
Meanwhile, some of the candidates who spoke with Tide source, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise at the centre.
One of the candidates, said Miss Chiamaka Christopher, that she found the examination easy because she had prepared for it.
“This is a very good centre with excellent facilities and it was very easy for me to write with the computer because I prepared for it,” Christopher said.
Another candidate, Master Godwin Ochili,  described the process as a wonderful experience.
“I will never forget the day I took my JAMB examination with computer. Though the time seemed to run so fast but I thank God because the computer operated very well and the supervision was nice,” Ochili said.
However, Master Ifeanyichukwu Ezea, said the questions were tough and unexpected.
“The centre is good but the questions were tough, but I am expecting high marks.”
Meanwhile, the Managing Director of the centre, Mr Gibson Mba, said he did his best to provide the facilities for the examination.
Mba said that the centre started operations in 2016 and had since hosted series of examinations, including promotion and recruitment examinations for government agencies and the private sector.
“This facility is of international standard and it has a capacity to sit 250 candidates for this JAMB but we can take up to 300 candidates.
“We are discussing with JAMB about setting up another centre at the upper floor,” he said.
Mba said that the facility was provided to host any interested institution.
Reports say  that the exercise has three sessions per day with 250 candidates participating in a single session.
