The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has expressed gratitude to the Almighty God for His benevolence to the state.
The governor stated this during the end of the 50 days fasting and prayer for the Golden Jubilee celebration in Port Harcourt.
Wike, who spoke through his Deputy, Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo, said in the midst of daunting challenges arising from litigations at the election tribunals and Court of Appeal, the government and people of Rivers State were rededicated to the Almighty God in September, 2015.
He said women were called to pray and submit the state to God because it was only God who could have saved the state at that time and God did.
According to the governor, God was bringing into Rivers State the significance of the Jubilee season, which he described as “a time of restoration, reconciliation, healing, and a time when old things have passed away and everything has become new.”
He thanked the organisers and the various ministers of God for the successes recorded.
In his sermon, the International Director of the Greater Evangelism World Crusade, Pastor Isaac Olori, who stressed the importance and efficacy of prayers, said the spiritual component of the Jubilee was very important because true Jubilee comes from God.
He commended the women for conceiving the prayer network, stating that prayers would continuously keep the state in the Jubilee.
Highlights of the occasion was the prayer for continued peace for the land and prosperity.
