FAAN Opens 2017 IGR Contract Bids …Investigates Fire Incident

The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has begun the process of evaluating biddings by companies for the award of contracts under its 2017 Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) Budget.
In accordance with the Public Procurement  Act of 2007, the authority has opened tender documents and had advertised in various media, including the Tender Journal, requesting qualified  organisations to express their interest for the award of contracts in different categories, including tax, audit assignment, medical equipment, goods and works.
FAAN management has also constituted a panel of enquiry to investigate the fire incident that occurred at the headquarters of the organisation in Lagos.
The Managing Director of the Authority, Engr. Saleh Dunoma, disclosed this while addressing newsmen after he inspected affected areas of the airport alongside his management team.
“The Committee will comprise representatives from the Nigerian Police Force, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Accident Investigation Bureau, the Authority’s Director of Security Services, representatives from fire department, safety department and legal.
“The legal representative would also serve as the security to the panel and the term of reference for the committee includes to investigate the entire incident with a view to establishing the immediate and remote causes of the fire, and also determine the level of damage”, he said.
According to him, the committee will also make recommendation so as to forestall future occurrence of such incident, among other issues that may arise during the course of their investigations.
