Confed Cup: Rivers Utd Vows To Stop KCCC
As Rivers United FC gets set to depart for Uganda tomorrow for the Day Three game of the Group A of the ongoing 2017 CAF Confederation Cup against Kampala City Council Club, KCCC Uganda, the team has expressed resolve to leave Uganda with at least a point in the encounter.
Speaking ahead of the game, Chief Coach of the Pride of Rivers as United is fondly called, Willie Udwbe said that the team has learnt a lot from their matches on the continent this term.
According to him, there are no easy games but it is only hard work and resilience that can bring results . he said that Rivers United must go into the match without the mindset that they are playing away from home and give the game all they have. Udube said that their encounter with FUS Rabat of Morocco two weeks ago showed that there is a little margin between home and away venues, and that it is your work on the pitch that will speak for you.
That is why, he said that the team is highly motivated to go all out in Uganda and try to build on the three points secured last time out and give themselves a bright chance of qualifying from the group for the semi final stage.
“All we need are prayers and good wishes, by the grace of God and determination, we shall return with good tales”, said the former midfield maestro.
Rivers United’s contingent is expected to leave for Uganda via Rwanda tomorrow for the match scheduled to hold on Saturday in Kampala.
