The Chairman, Bayelsa State Squash Association (BSA), Wilson Egberipou,  yesterday said that the Nigeria Squash Federation (NSF) was on a mission to revive the sport in the country.
Egberipou made the assertion in Lagos while reviewing the success of the maiden Ex-Pros Squash tournament which ended in Lagos on April 28 in an interview with Tidesports source.
“What we have done here is a step to revive the game of squash in Nigeria. What happened here has never happened before in the history of sports in Nigeria.
“This tournament is the sole effort of the ex-squash players who pooled their resources together to sponsor national championships. This is a huge success.
“It is a means of giving back to the society and not this alone, we are also trying to revive a once popular sport in Nigeria and that is squash.
“We have also promised to continue to see how squash will take its place of pride in sports in Nigeria,’’ he said.
Egberipou, who was the tournament Director, said that he was satisfied with the quality of play by the young squash players, adding that they represented the future of squash in Nigeria.
