The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim sulu-Gambari, has called on the Federal Government to urgently address the crisis in the power sector to save the remaining industries.
Sulu-Gambari made the call Thursday, when members of the Kwara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture  (KWACCIMA) paid him a courtesy  call.
The emir, who is the chairman of Kwara State,  Council of Chiefs,  said the government must  address  the situation in the  power sector for industries to thrive.
He said there could be no economic  growth in the country without stable and steady electric power supply.
The emir called on KWACCIMA to ensure that all  moribund industries in the  state were reviewed  through  genuine  partnership with the  state government to create employment opportunities.
He expressed regret that many industries  could not survive  due to epileptic power  supply, adding that many industries had relocated to neigbouring countries.
The emir described the situation as unfortunate and blamed it for the rising rate of unemployment.
Sulu-Gambari, however, appealed to industrialists to come and invest in the  state  as the state government would create enabling environment for them.
Earlier, the President of KWACCIMA, Alhaji Ahmed Raji, had commended the emir for  preaching unity and love among the people.
Raji told the traditional ruler of the plan by the chamber to organize a trade fair in Ilorin in October.
The chamber President said the chamber would do everything possible to add value to the economy of the state.
